Gift-Giving Tips & Tricks for Busy People

Balancing Work and Life

Life is busy even if you’re not involved in a conglomeration of high-stakes deals out of some eighties movie about Wall Street. If you’re just working a regular job, paying rent, keeping your living area clean, and being part of your own family, you don’t have a lot of free time. The world is even more fast-paced than it’s ever been, and finding free time is hard.

So you’re busy. How can you give those you love the gifts they deserve? Sometimes a small gift is no big deal if you can just spend time with somebody. But if you can’t spend time with a person, a little trinket is almost worse than no gift at all. Obviously, there’s some sort of balance, we’ll explore it here with three gift-giving tips for those that are busy.

  1. Tickets to a Big Game
What kind of budget are you working with? If you can spare $500, or thereabouts, you can buy two tickets to a big sports event and give them to the friend or loved one in your life you’re unable to spend time with. Also, some tickets are way cheaper (and some are way more costly), here’s a breakdown to give you an idea of the range.

You want to get them at least two tickets because nobody likes going to a big game alone, and if you can’t be there, they need to bring a friend or family member. This is an expensive gift, but it’s also a memory, and it shows you care. All you’ve got to do is buy and deliver the tickets.

  1. Flower Delivery
Flowers that are delivered can be a fine last-minute gift for a friend on their birthday or another special occasion. Now if your friend is a lady, and you’re a lady, this will be perfectly natural. If you’re a guy, and she’s not, be careful how you present the flowers if you don’t intend to push things beyond the platonic. It’s possible she could take this as a “sign”.

However, if you’re trying to come off as a stylish friend who is cultured and sophisticated, then flowers may not inherently represent romantic intention, nor give that impression. Whatever the case, if you’re not trying to court your friend, be sure flowers are delivered when there are at least some other people around; unless of course, your friendship is very secure.

If you’ve been friends with the girl down the street since you were five years old, she’ll likely know whether there are any romantic portents in your floral gift. Whatever the case, if you’re busy, having flowers delivered to a friend or family member on a special occasion shows you care, and you’re willing to give qualitative gifts.

  1. A Scavenger Hunt
Sometimes the issue isn’t so much that you don’t have time. Sometimes, you don’t have time when the friend or family member in question is throwing a party. But everyone has a few hours here or there that are “free”. Maybe what you do in your free time is hide a bunch of notes around town for a “scavenger hunt” that leads to a safe location where there’s a big gift.

Being Involved in The Lives of Those You Love
Scavenger hunts, flowers, and tickets to a big game are all easy gifts that you can give friends or family even if you don’t have a lot of time on your hands.
